Goods Vehicle Exceeding the Maximum Gross Weight Indicated on the Goods Vehicle Symbol Prohibited road sign

The Goods Vehicle Exceeding Weight Sign (Diagram 622.1A) is a regulatory road sign that marks the point where a maximum gross vehicle weight applies. It’s commonly used on weight-restricted roads, bridges, residential areas, and routes where heavy vehicles could damage the road or structures.

The weight limit is displayed clearly within the black lorry symbol within the red circular border, allowing drivers of heavier goods vehicles to identify the restriction before continuing. This helps to protect vulnerable roads and structures while keeping traffic restrictions clear.

Manufactured in-house and compliant with current UK traffic sign regulations, this sign is designed with a RA2 reflective face for strong visibility and long-term outdoor use.
