STOP road sign

The UK stop sign is a regulatory sign that requires drivers and other road users to come to a complete stop at a road junction. Common sign placement is on junctions which have limited visibility, also known as closed junctions, where the “creep and peep” method should be used to enter the next road.

Unlike circular signs or triangular signs, the stop road sign is octagonal. It is the only junction sign that is shaped like this and can be used on any road, including minor roads.
