Overhanging road sign

The Overhanging supplementary plate (Diagram 530.1) provides extra information about a reduced headroom hazard ahead. It is used with Diagram 530 or Diagram 530A, helping to warn drivers that part of the road passes beneath an overhanging building or structure.

This supplementary plate is particularly useful in town centres, older streets, industrial sites, and private roads, where buildings or structures extend over part of the carriageway. It gives drivers, particularly those operating larger vehicles, advance notice so they can check their vehicle height and avoid unsuitable routes.

Alternative wording is available, including “Overhanging Building” and “Overhanging Structure”, depending on the location. The size of the text can also be adjusted to suit specific road requirements.

Available in a variety of standard sizes; other sizes are also available on request. The sign can be supplied for wall mounting or with rear channels for post fixing to suit different installation requirements.
